Skate like me?
My friend The Lone Sentry apparently saw a skater at a skatepark in Boston who skates like me. I wish I could be there skating with them. I feel like I am a total throwback, except that I am actually FROM that time. This is one my my favorite videos on youtube – the classic banked freestyle contest from the Runway Skatepark in Carson, California, from 1978. I never saw this until it was posted on Youtube, and I was shocked to see these guys, especially Mike Weed (2nd skater) and Ty Page (4th skater) skated like I do.
