My friend @theLoneSentry has been testing board setups.

Here is my input. I have been riding an 8.25 Mode pops for a long time now. I use 149s on it. I find that if I run trucks such that the wheel edges come out to the width of the board, rather than the axles, it feels better. The axles on 149s are wider than 8.25, yet with typical center-set newschool wheels it works prefectly. I feel like a lot of people go “oh - 8.25? I need an 8.25 axle, and the board feels kind of tippy.

The result of my setup is a board that feels very stable, but the wheels don’t stick out. It feels good. Now, I know that the 14.25” wheelbase is not to @theLongSentry ’s liking, but that’s a different topic.
